Helping those in need
Our Mission
JL Cares seeks to facilitate the strength of volunteerism and generosity of donors to support local charities which address community needs and improve lives in the areas of food, shelter, education and wellness.
What We Do
JL Cares, established in 1996 by residents of Jonathan’s Landing, encourages and coordinates volunteer involvement by our residents and members in the Jupiter area and raises funds for non-profit agencies and schools in the local community. JL Cares supports over 20 local agencies through volunteer work, financial gifts, and grants. JL Cares is a 501(c)3 tax exempt not-for-profit.
Volunteering
Members and residents volunteer thousands of hours at local organizations that include: schools, hospitals, family services, housing, learning centers, military assistance, and more. Some volunteering is coordinated through JL sponsored events, while other volunteer opportunities are scheduled directly with agencies in our community. We also provide grants to complement the volunteer activities of JL Residents and Club Members.
Fundraising
The JL Cares Gifts and Grants Committee researches local charities and identifies ones suitable both as volunteer opportunities and as recipients of grant money. Equally notable and unique among charitable organizations is that 99% of all monies collected goes directly to the charities we support. We are very proud of our dedication to help our local community and our reputation of success and ability to encourage volunteerism, by striving to give those in need hope, encouragement, compassion, nutrition and healing.
